Captain Keny Lewis is the owner and operator of Captain Ken’s Wild Wings, offering premier duck hunting and fishing charters based out of Port Clinton, Ohio. A lifelong outdoorsman and U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain, Ken brings decades of experience, grit, and passion to every trip on Lake Erie. After leaving the Army in 1990, Ken started a career in repair work and soon discovered the thrill of waterfowl hunting on Lake Erie. One duck hunt was all it took — he was hooked. He started hunting more often, bought his first boat, and sharpened his skills. Encouraged by his uncle, he earned his Coast Guard license, began writing for Ohio Sportsman Magazine, and spent every vacation day running hunts on the water. By 1996, he expanded into fishing charters, eventually running 30–50 trips a year from his 27’ SportCraft. In 2005, Ken was called back to military service, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan while pastoring and continuing to grow his guide business with the help of trusted captains back home.Fishing has been a part of Ken’s life since childhood — but duck hunting came after the military. It’s that unique path that defines his approach today: focused, disciplined, and adaptable. What sets Captain Ken apart from other guides in the region is simple — time, preparation, and adaptability. Drawing from his military background, Ken brings a strategic mindset to every outing. Ohio Hunting License – Every hunter, resident or non‑resident, must carry a valid Ohio hunting license to hunt ducks, even with a youth or apprentice licenseOhio Wetlands Habitat Stamp – Required for all hunters aged 18 or older and mandatory when hunting waterfowl in the stateFederal Migratory Bird Hunting &amp; Conservation Stamp (Duck Stamp) – Required for hunters aged 16 or older for hunting ducks or geeseHarvest Information Program (HIP) Certification – Free federal certification required annually to track migratory bird harvests; must be carried in the fieldHunter Education Certificate – Anyone purchasing a hunting license for the first time (except those under an apprentice license supervised by an adult) needs to complete a state-approved hunter education course. Exceptions apply for those 21+ who previously held a license in any state.

To duck hunt in Ohio, you need a license, HIP cert, Duck Stamp (16+), Wetlands Stamp (18+), and hunter ed. Use non-toxic shot, ≤3-shell gun, and follow season dates, hours, and bag limits.
