Ohio Hunting License – Every hunter, resident or non‐resident, must carry a valid Ohio hunting license to hunt ducks, even with a youth or apprentice license
Ohio Wetlands Habitat Stamp – Required for all hunters aged 18 or older and mandatory when hunting waterfowl in the state
Federal Migratory Bird Hunting & Conservation Stamp (Duck Stamp) – Required for hunters aged 16 or older for hunting ducks or geese
Harvest Information Program (HIP) Certification – Free federal certification required annually to track migratory bird harvests; must be carried in the field
Hunter Education Certificate – Anyone purchasing a hunting license for the first time (except those under an apprentice license supervised by an adult) needs to complete a state-approved hunter education course. Exceptions apply for those 21+ who previously held a license in any state.
