I had the pleasure of taking a crew of 3 hunters out this October for an early morning duck hunt in Port Clinton, Ohio. We launched at 5:00 am under clear conditions that held steady throughout the day, setting us up perfectly for our Ohio Duck Hunts On the 32 Duckwater Ocean adventure.
Once the stage was set, we worked a combination of pass shooting, decoying, and jump shooting techniques to target the variety of waterfowl moving through the area. The clear weather gave us excellent visibility to spot incoming flights, and our 32-foot Duck Water boat positioned us right where we needed to be. Port Clinton's location on Lake Erie makes it prime territory for these hunting methods, especially during October migration.
The crew stayed busy all morning with decent and we wrapped up the hunt with smiles all around - after all, you can't shoot them on the couch! The combination of techniques kept everyone engaged, and the clear conditions made for textbook hunting weather that any waterfowler would appreciate.
If you're looking to experience some of the best duck hunting Ohio has to offer, our Ohio Duck Hunts provide the perfect opportunity to target Redhead, Widgeon, Scaup, Canvasback, Goldeneye, Bufflehead, and both Common and Red-Breasted Merganser. We hunt from our fleet of 32, 28, and 25-foot Duck Water boats that comfortably accommodate up to six hunters, making this ideal for groups of friends and families. Our Port Clinton location puts us right in the heart of Lake Erie's migration corridor, where pass shooting, decoying, and jump shooting opportunities abound during the fall season. Just bring your guns, ammo, and proper licenses - we'll handle the rest and put you on the birds.
