Encouraged by his uncle, he earned his Coast Guard license, began writing for Ohio Sportsman Magazine, and spent every vacation day running hunts on the water. By 1996, he expanded into fishing charters, eventually running 30–50 trips a year from his 27’ SportCraft. In 2005, Ken was called back to military service, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan while pastoring and continuing to grow his guide business with the help of trusted captains back home.Fishing has been a part of Ken’s life since childhood — but duck hunting came after the military.
